"Domaine Vignoble Dampt is located in the Yonne Department of France far North of the Cote de Nuits in the same area as Chablis. The climate is cooler and more extreme than that of the Cote de Nuits and as a result the wines are usually much leaner in structure. This particular Bourgogne Rouge is a stunning example of what Pinot Noir should taste like. Tart red cherry, cranberry, violet, and spice is punctuated by a brilliant mineral-driven earthiness characteristic of great Burgundy (just like Volnay). A brilliant little gem."
